St. Johns Sunday & Midsommar 2011
On Sunday June 19th Caribou lodge was opened to attend church services in observation of St. Johns Sunday. This year St. Johns Sunday was held in New Sweden in conjunction with their Midsommar festival. In all, ten Masons including the Grand Master MW Louis Greenier and several family members were present for the services. After the service, some stayed and enjoyed the festivities which included a smorgasbord lunch in Thomas park and a musical program that included dancing around the May pole.
Flag Day 2011
Caribou lodge in conjunction with the Family of Asher Chambers and the Grand Lodge of Maine's Community Betterment Grant, donated the funds for one of the Flag poles at the Caribou Veterans Cemetery. These Flag Poles line the driveway as you enter the cemetery and provide a very fitting atmosphere when visiting our fallen heroes.
Past Master of Caribou Lodge and grandson of Asher Chambers, Jody Smith is the head groundskeeper at the cemetery.
